100th Day of School celebration at Highland

Highland Elementary pre-k students celebrated 100th Day of School dressed as though they were 100-year-old and they had a visit from “Zero the Hero”.

EHS seniors volunteer at Veterans Home

Eunice High seniors Sadie Middlebrooks, Caroline Mire and Vivian Mire paid tribute to veterans as their senior project. The group visited Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home on different dates and assisted and volunteered during games of bingo, socializing, and handed out handmade Christmas cards.

Graduation is right around the corner and much is needed ahead of time for the newspaper’s special graduation edition. Eunice High and St. Edmund seniors are to email their senior bios.

Bulb & Blossom members learn about Ikebana

The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club held its first meeting of the year at the home of Barbara Wells. Despite the recent hard freezes, member Suzanne LaHaye gathered items from her yard to demonstrate Ikebana, one of the traditional art forms of Japan.

Students of the Month at Glendale Elementary

Students of the Month for January were honored at Glendale Elementary. Each student was presented an award, medal and a pencil.

Recycling and creating new at Eunice Elementary

Rebecca Miller’s second-grade class at Eunice Elementary recently studied about recycling in science. Students had to complete a project using an item that they were going to throw away and turn it in to something else. Students got creative.

First play of 49th season ‘A Comedy of Tenors’ opens March 14

Rehearsals are underway as the Eunice Players’ Theatre opens its 49th season with “A Comedy of Tenors”, a two-act comedy by Ken Ludwig.

This week’s Student of the Week is Sydnie Dupre, a senior at Eunice High School Her parents are Todd and Simone Dupre. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Tennessee because it’s a beautiful place with many things to do.
