Highland Elementary students upheld their end of the bargain with their pincipal Lorie LeDoux that they would do well on their state testing last school year. So, LeDoux had to complete her end of the bargain and that was to kiss a pig, and with her brightest red lipstick.

'Hugs Across Eunice" a EHS senior project

Eunice High School seniors Macy Pousson, Abbigail Fontenot, and Chloe Andrepont did their senior project by donating teddy bears, and named their project, “Hugs Across Eunice.” The group collected and donated 115 teddy bears to the Eunice Fire Department.

Winners named at Council on Aging Mardi Gras Dance

The annual St. Landry Parish Council on Aging Mardi Gras Dance was held Monday at the Northwest Community Center. Seniors enjoyed a live band by Big J & The Zydeco Dog Pound and danced to Zydeco and traditional Cajun music. Mistress of Ceremonies was Laura Balthazar.

John Bertrand Jessica M. Bertrand of Opelousas announces the birth of her son, John Greyson Bertrand, born at Acadian Medical Center on Feb. 4 weighing 5 pounds and 9.6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are John (Tony) and Tywanna Bertrand of Opelousas.

Landry at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Yvette Landry & Friends. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.
