Attention all graduating seniors

Graduation is right around the corner and much is needed ahead of time for the newspaper’s special graduation edition. Eunice High and St. Edmund seniors are to email their senior bios.

Upcoming spring concert

Nancy Simon, founder and conductor of Eunice Symphony Orchestra, was the guest speaker at a Kiwanis’ meeting. The Orchestra is in its 18th year of existence and will present its Spring Concert at 6 p.m. April 15 at the Liberty Theater.

Simple ways to avoid injury gardening

Gardening is one outdoor activity that attracts many. I don’t have a vegetable garden, but I do maintain a small flower garden. It’s located in a raised brick-garden box. I know it’s small but I enjoy tending to it and watching my plants and flowers flourish.

This week’s Student of the Week is Jonathan Keith McQuirter, a sixth grader at Central Middle School. His mother is Danielle Thibodeaux. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to stay in the same area because my friends are here.

Benoit at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Kenneth Benoit & The Gravel Road Band. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.

Couple exchange vows during evening Nuptial Mass ceremony

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice was the setting for the Nuptial Mass ceremony uniting Nicole Thibodeaux and Brock Dale Boudreaux in Holy Matrimony. The ceremony was held at 7 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 29 with The Rev. Jim Brady, and Co-Celebrates Rev. Keenan Brown, Rev. Glen Meaux, Rev.

EHS students compete Capital Hill Stock Market

Eunice High has been chosen by U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson to compete in the Capital Hill Challenge Stock Market Game. The EHS team is competing against 1,722 other high school teams across America. The contest started Feb. 5 and runs until May 11.

Highland Elementary receives Exxon Grant
