This week’s Student of the Week is Caroline Bollich, a junior at St. Edmund High School. Her parents are Ben and Mindy Bollich. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Washington, D.C.

Sofia Olvera Humberto and Alissa Olvera of Lawtell announce the birth of their daughter, Sofia Claire Olvera, born at Acadian Medical Center on Feb. 6 weighing 6 pounds and 12 ounces. Maternal grandmother is Karen Murphy of Lawtell. Paternal grandparents are Rutilo and Petronila Olvera of Mexico.

Jesse Lege at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Jesse Lege with the Basile Mardi Gras. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5. Starting at 10 a.m.

St. Edmund High students attend District FBLA conference

St. Edmund High School students competed at the District FBLA Rally recently. Students earned Excellent ratings and Superior ratings. Superior rated students will advance to the State FBLA Leadership Conference.

EHS seniors host Superbowl Party at Eunice Manor

Eunice High School seniors Kenneth Guillory, left, Kelsie Richardson and Traylon Clark provided residents at Eunice Manor Nursing Home with a Superbowl Party on Feb. 5 as their senior project. The trio served residents a variety of treats and enjoyed spending time with them.

Religion Fair project at St. Francis

The fifth-grade religion class of Susan Christ at St. Francis School were required to complete a Religion Fair project on the Corporal Works of Mercy. Each student chose their own Corporal Works of Mercy to design and build.

A Valentine's social at Goodhope Place

Tenants at Goodhope Place Apartments enjoyed their Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 with a bingo game and balloons and candy provided by the management.
