Education Week at Glendale

The third grade class of Parveen Kaur at Glendale Elementary enjoyed a special visitor on campus, Carolyn Baldwin. During American Education Week Baldwin read a book, “The 3 Musketeers.” Baldwin, a member of the Eunice NAUW, chose Glendale as her choice this year during education week.

This week’s Student of the Week is Destiny Lafleur, a senior at Eunice High School. Her parents are Jennifer Fontenot and Moise Lafleur.   If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why?

Kyle Huval at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday  at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Kyle Huval & the Dixie Club Ramblers. Doors open at 5 p.m. Show starts at 6 p.m. Admission $5. Starting at 10 a.m.

Birth Announcements

Wyatt LaCombe Cody LaCombe of Eunice and Stacy Brewer of Basile announce the birth of their son, Wyatt James LaCombe, born at Acadian Medical Center on Nov. 22 weighing 7 pounds and 4.2 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Wayne and Cathy Shea of Basile.

Celebrate with food safely during the holidays

Young Christians honored at St. Edmund

At the end of each grading term, St. Edmund students Pre-k through eighth-grade are recognized for their outstanding character. The following students earned the Young Christian Award for the second six weeks.

Business Yard of the Month recognized

Victory Christian Worship Center at 100 N. Second St. was awarded Business Yard of the Month presented by volunteer member of the Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden Club Fran Guillory. The corner flowering bed features lantana, penta, Flax lily, agapanthus, and variegated ginger.

Drug-free week at St. Francis School
