Healthy Holiday dessert

A lot of folks are baking holiday treats and desserts at this time of year. I try not to, because I’m more than likely to eat my baked goods in one sitting. However, those of you who are baking and would like to prepare a more healthy version of a holiday treat, read below.

Surprise a resident at Eunice Manor with a Christmas gift. By picking an angel from the Angel Tree at the Eunice Post Office, a resident will receive a Christmas gift. Inside the post office lobby is a tree with colored angels with written gift ideas for residents at Eunice Manor.

Eunice High students make trip to World War II Museum

On Tuesday, Eunice High history teacher Pierre Martel brought 90 seniors and juniors to the World War II Museum in New Orleans. Martel added, “It was the day before the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. We had the opportunity to meet two Pearl Harbor survivors, Mr.

Chickens on the Run at St. Francis

Before Thanksgiving the first-grade class of Shari Tavera at St. Francis School were given a picture of a turkey. The object of their class project was to disguise the turkey so it could not be caught to eat for Thanksgiving.

St. Francis honor roll students play bingo

During each nine-weeks grading period at St. Francis, those students making President’s list (all As) and those making honor roll (As/Bs) are treated to a bingo in the gymnasium. Students have the pleasure of playing bingo and winning prizes. They are also treated to nachos and a drink.

Birth Announcements

Laura Brown William and Tracey Aucoin Brown announce the birth of their daughter, Laura Catherine Brown, born at Acadian Medical Center on Nov. 28 weighing 6 pounds and 10 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Andre Aucoin and Karen Aucoin. Paternal grandparents are Robert and Jennifer Brown.

Student of the Year candidates at Eunice Junior High

In order to qualify for Eunice Jr. High School Student of the Year students must have been enrolled in the Eunice public school system in the sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade, maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade point average, and have an outstanding discipline record.
