CFMA Scholarship to be awarded
CFMA (Cajun French Music Association) Acadiana Charter Chapter will be awarding a $500 scholarship starting with the fall semester, $250 per semester.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a single-vehicle crash on La. 91 near Arpent Lane in Acadia Parish. The crash took the life of 8-year-old Mazey Guidry of Eunice.
Satellite Social Club BBQ fundraiser set
The Satellite Social & Civic Club Inc. will have its annual BBQ Fundraiser from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. July 16.
Eunice Players’ Theatre’s “Charlotte’s Web” has five more performances including today at 2 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday at 7 p.m.
A swearing in and induction of new Rotary Club officers and board members was held Wednesday at noon. Judge Ellis Daigle performed the swearing in duties. Jacob Bergeron is the new Rotary Club president. Outgoing president is Coby Clavier.
The Rev. Samuel “Sam” Fontana is the new pastor at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. His official first day at the church was July 4.
