Due to severe weather forecasted for our area on Wednesday, all St. Landry Parish schools and administrative offices will be closed. This closure includes all after-school activities and sports practices. We anticipate resuming regular school hours on Thursday.

Belly Buddies Color Fun Run set April 13 There will be a Belly Buddies Color Fun Run in downtown Eunice from 10 a.m. until noon on April 13. All proceeds will go to Belly Buddies, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide food to Eunice’s most vulnerable students.

Chives, Hibiscus are tasty garden edibles

Chives are an easy herb to grow and preferred over green onions due to cancer and osteoporosis fighting and memory improving properties. Chive blossoms are milder than the chive leaves and used when a dish calls for a less overpowering onion flavor.

Meeting sheds light on solar farm

The Tri-Parish workforce remained steady in February compared to a year ago, but unemployment rates rose, according to data released by Louisiana Workforce Commission on Wednesday. The Tri-Parish workforce, which includes those employed and those seeking jobs, totaled 67,23 in February, up 344 or 0.
