Eunice’s Dr. Cambron offers tips on dealing with stress, anxiety

Dr. Hawk Cambron, M.D., a family medicine specialist with the Louisiana Family Practice in Eunice, was the guest speaker at the Eunice Rotary Club meeting Wednesday. Cambron asked the group of Rotarians, “Who deals with anxiety and stress?” Many factors can bring on anxiety, stress and depression.

Court Eunice 208 CDA meeting set Court Eunice 208 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will have a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2 at the Jeanmard Hall on North 3rd. Members are reminded to bring any non-perishable item to contribute to our ongoing support of the Eunice Food Bank.

Workforce up, jobless rate down in November

The Tri-Parish workforce was up nearly 2% in November compared to a November 2021 and jobless rates are down from a year ago, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The Tri-Parish workforce totaled 68,506 in November, up 1,321 from the November 2021 count.

New Year brings new police chief

Incoming Police Chief Kyle LeBouef says one of his biggest challenges is staffing and that’s because Eunice is behind other police departments in its pay. LeBouef says he has talked to Mayor Scott Fontenot and city council members about the pay issue and there is agreement.
