The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Feb. 20 Lance Marcus Darbonne, 41, 200 block of Rodney Street, Eunice. Violation of protective orders. Feb. 21 Vance James Manuel, 46, homeless. Violation of protective orders. Gavin Andrew Fontenot, 22, 600 block of South 2nd Street, Eunice.

Cameron-Schlumberger lays off workers in Ville Platte

$7,500 reward offered for information on shooting of endangered whooping crane in Acadia Parish

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement Division agents are looking for leads regarding an endangered whooping crane that was shot in Acadia Parish. The crane was found with a wounded wing on Nov. 2, 2018 between Crowley and Rayne off of Monceaux Rd.

Acadia Parish Police Jury OKs pay raise for secretary-treasurer

By Steve Bandy Crowley Post-Signal CROWLEY – The secretary-treasurer of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will get a pay raise, but his term of office is up to the Louisiana Legislature. Currently, the annual salary for the secretary-treasurer in Acadia is $50,000.

Information sought about fatal hit and run

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a fatal hit and run crash which occurred about 8:30 p.m. Feb.11 in the 1100 block of Lovell Street near Crowley.
