St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 31 Macca Indira Issa Abdou, 26, 200 block of Faith Drive, Opelousas. Simple criminal damage. Daniel Joseph Laneaux, 34, 500 block of Curleys Road, Sunset. Aggravated second-degree battery.

Antoinette Guillory

Antoinette Guillory passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at the age of 68. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Deacon David Guillory will officiate.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office reports arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 30: Jammy Lee Hicks, 31, 3000 block of Hwy. 167, Opelousas, Theft. Gordon Antoine Tatman, 29, 300 block of W. Vine St., Washington.

Nicole Guillory passed away on Monday, May 29, at the age of 44. No Memorial Services have been scheduled at this time.

Eunice Police to hold neighborhood meeting A neighborhood meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. June 7 at the Southeast Neighborhood Center, 101 City Ave., Eunice, to discuss safety. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot will be the speaker.

LSU announces Dean’s List, President’s Honor Roll

LSU has announced the names of the students who have made the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor Roll for the spring 2017 semester. Undergraduate students enrolled in at least 15 credit hours who earned grade-point averages of 4.

Eunice Police to hold neighborhood meeting

A neighborhood meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. June 7 at the Southeast Neighborhood Center, 101 City Ave., Eunice, to discuss safety. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot will be the speaker. In an announcement of the meeting, it states the goal will be safety and peace in the neighborhood.

Road closure to start Tuesday

The replacement of the bridge on West Maple Avenue and Bobcat Drive will result in an additional road closing beginning Tuesday. La. 91, which is Maple Avenue, has been closed for the bridge project since Jan. 16 for Phase 1 of the project.
