Louisiana rice acreage down 8%

This year’s Louisiana rice planting, estimated at 400,000 acres, is 8 percent less than last year, according to LSU AgCenter rice extension specialist Dustin Harrell. AgCenter estimates for the 2016 crop were 432,168 acres.

Eunice man arrested for drugs

A 30-year-old Eunice man was arrested early Monday on several drug-related charges by Eunice Police. Eunice Police, assisted by the K-9 unit from the Coushatta Police, executed a search warrant at MaGraff Favors’ residence in the 200 block of North Cane Street, Eunice Police said in a news release.

Fallen remembered in Eunice ceremony
