Jury convicts man in Eunice shooting

A St. Landry Parish jury convicted Xavier Watson for the attempted second-degree murder of a 14-year-old juvenile on May 4, 2022. According to a news release from St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre the jury deliberated for an hour before delivering a verdict on Wednesday.

Mamou Police are looking for a Kelsey Rochelle Mallet who has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after an altercation on Tuesday, during the Madi Gras festivities, just before 5 p.m.

4-wheeler believed stolen from Eunice area recovered

A 4-wheeler stolen from the Eunice area was recovered from a location in the 1000 block of St. Julien Road in Evangeline Parish on Feb. 12, according to a news release from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. Two people, Tim Stelly, 41, and Lacey Miller were arrested.
