Church Point man arrested on murder charge

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies have been actively seeking Quincy Mouton, 31, of Church Point, for the Nov. 22, 2023, homicide of Daryl Lewis. The United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force has been assisting the sheriff’s office with locating and apprehending Mouton. On Feb.

Jury convicts man in Eunice shooting

A St. Landry Parish jury convicted Xavier Watson for the attempted second-degree murder of a 14-year-old juvenile on May 4, 2022. According to a news release from St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre the jury deliberated for an hour before delivering a verdict on Wednesday.
