Men charged with abducting, raping woman on Mardi Gras

Three men are accused of abducting a 19-year-old woman from a Mardi Gras street dance in Mamou, drugging and raping her. Mamou Police rescued the woman. The men charged are Martinez Coucek Gallow, 45, of Mamou, Darryl Washington Jr., 44, of Ville Platte, and Louis Alfred, 45, of Ville Platte.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Friday, Feb. 16 Ranvill Markeith Richard, 36, 1600 block of Brown Street, Opelousas. Possession of Schedule II CDS. Arrested by Opelousas Police. Rontrell Tarik Boutte, 27, 100 block of Steed Place, Lafayette.

Man accused of abusing wheelchair-bound wife

A 44-year-old Krotz Springs man has been charged with abusing his wheelchair-bound wife, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz in a news release. Brent James Lahaye, of the 100 block of Waterfront Road, is charged with cruelty to persons with infirmities and false imprisonment.
