Female suspect in Branch killing found in Church Pt.

The second suspect in the shooting death of a Church Point man has been located, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson. Tyla Meche, 34, of Church Point was found Thursday afternoon hiding in a residence on the Church Point Highway just north of Branch, Gibson said.

Lt. James Bergeron of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting help in solving multiple burglaries at a Eunice business. Best Marine located in the 200 block of Murphy Richard Loop was the victim of a burglary on Jan. 21.

Juveniles arrested for Rodney Street fire

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested two teenagers for setting a vacant house on fire, according to a news release on Facebook from the fire marshal. The 15-year-old boys were arrested Jan. 28, on one count each of simple arson and criminal trespass.
