April ended Autism Awareness Month. We have certified deputies trained in the handling of a special needs child. One of the purposes of our program is to better train officers in dealing with their needs.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s training instructors who teach the concealed carry classes will also instruct the 8-hour tactical course for church security.

Tips sought to burglaries in Northern Acadia Parish

Living in the rural areas of a parish has its advantages, however coming home to find your residence burglarized is a feeling of being violated. Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating three separate burglaries which occurred on April 17 in the northern portion of Acadia Parish.
