Eunice tennis honors seniors

The Eunice tennis team sent its four seniors out in fine fashion Thursday with a 7-2 win over Lafayette Christian Academy. In boys doubles, Zach Joubert and Ting Jiang grabbed an 8-1 win over LCA’s Silas Lafleur and Kaleb Lafleur.

Lady Jays win back-to-back titles

The Lady Jays earned the District 4-1A softball championship with a 10-0 mercy-rule win over South Cameron. St. Edmund grabbed the 2018 title, its first since 2004.

Grand Lake clips Blue Jays

Grand Lake scored three runs in the top of the ninth and then held off St. Edmund to grab a 6-5 District 4-1 win.

Bobcats down Green Demons

By John Burson Sports Writer MAMOU – The Eunice High Bobcats completed a two-game sweep of the Mamou High Green Demons with a 13-4 victory. The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a single by Grant Fontenot, a single by Tyler Darbonne, and a triple by Seth Deshotel.

Lady Dogs run past Eunice

IOTA – The Lady Bulldogs scored five runs in both the second and fourth innings as Iota earned an 11-0 win over the Eunice Lady Cats in the District 5-3A finale.

Lady Cats win seventh straight parish title

The Eunice Lady Bobcats won their seventh straight parish title and the Bobcats won their first won second in the past four years as Eunice High swept the 2019 St. Landry Parish track meet. The Lady Cats scored 128 points to edge Westminster Christian Academy’s 123 points.

Lady Cats roll on senior day

In their final home game of the season, the Lady Cats honored the seniors with a 15-1 mercy-rule win over Northwest. With a 6-0 lead, the Lady Cats exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the third to put the game away. Nicole Vidrine and Caroline Vienne both singled to start the rally.

White named to 3-A All-State team

BATON ROUGE – Champions Madison Prep and Loranger swept the top honors on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s Class 3A All-State basketball teams.

Lady Jays grab crucial wins

The St. Edmund Lady Jays improved to 14-4 on the season and remained at the top of the District 4-1A standings with a 13-1 win over Grand Lake.

Ardoin signs with Nunez College

St. Edmund senior Dawson Ardoin will continue his baseball career with the Nunez Community College Pelicans. “They made me feel at home the first visit I made,” Ardoin said. “I want to be a part of the building blocks for their the foundation.
