District 4-1A will remain an eight-team football district but without two familiar names. Two-time district champions St. Edmund has moved to District 5-1A and South Cameron has dropped football for the forseable future.

Bulldogs, Bears favorites in 5-3A title race

Bobcats face new district challenges

A football state championship by the Bobcats will be remembered for a long time by the Eunice High faithful. But a Class 3-A repeat isn’t possible as the Bobcats are moving up a division for at least the next two years. In fact, four of the five teams in District 4-4A are moving in classification.

SHVP downs Lady Jays

MAMOU – A bases loaded hit by the Lady Trojans lifted Sacred Heart of Ville Platte to a 3-2 win over St. Edmund in Acadiana Softball League play. The Lady Jays grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Kinsley Marcantel walked and scored on a hit by Anna Belle Fontenot.

Bobcats swat down Yellowjackets

The Eunice Bobcats took on the Kinder Yellowjackets in summer varsity vaseball action on Wednesday at Bobcat Field following a junior varsity contest between the two teams. In the varsity game, the Yellow Jackets scored two runs in the top of the first inning to claim a 2-0 lead.

Softball coach Lee leaving LSUE

Andy Lee, a six-time national champion and three-time national coach of the year, has been named the next head softball coach at Northwest Florida State College, Athletic Director Ramsey Ross announced Wednesday afternoon.

Bobcats defeat Breaux Bridge, Sacred Heart

The Eunice Bobcats defeated the Breaux Bridge Tigers by an 8-3 margin in baseball action at the LSUE Baseball Tournament this past weekend. The Bobcats scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take the early lead.
