Jays look for win over Bears

After back-to-back losses, the Blue Jays are hoping to rebound at home today as St. Edmund faces Highland Baptist. The Blue Jays began the season with a 32-18 win over Vinton, but St. Ed’s then dropped games to Bunkie (14-9) and Avoyelles (36-7).

Mustangs run past Blue Jays

St. Edmund head coach James Shiver knew what his Blue Jays were up against Friday night as Avoyelles came to visit. The Mustangs stampeded through the St. Ed defense for 410 yards on 62 plays as Avoyelles grabbed a 36-7 win over the Blue Jays.

Bobcats down Bulldogs

Merricks joins EHS Hall of Fame

He was the first baseball coach for the Bobcats and now Clarence Merricks joins the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame. According to Merricks, he was hired at EHS in the 1971-72 school year to fill an opening in math and science.

Bunkie downs Blue Jays, 14-9

BUNKIE – St. Edmund looked to stay undefeated after its trip to Bunkie. Heading into fourth quarter leading 9-7, it looked like the Blue Jays might do just that. But Bunkie scored on a late touchdown to steal a 14-9 win. Since 2011, St. Edmund has opened every season 1-1.

Bobcats clip Jennings, 19-7

Over the years, the Eunice – Jennings rivalry has had its share of close games in the annual dog and cat fight. This year was no different as the No. 9 Bobcats grabbed a 19-7 win over the Bulldogs.
