LDWF responds to fake news articles

BATON ROUGE - Recently, LDWF has had to respond to several fake news articles, one regarding increased fishing fines and, most recently, the supposed forced closure of hunting and fishing season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. None of it is true.

The North Central Lady Hurricanes captured the Class 1-A state championship with a 50-39 win over Merryville. North Central (22-7, 5-0) also cruised through District 5-1A play and placed six players on the all-district list including MVP Fredricka Keller.

Sad day as seniors, teams sent home

Friday the 13th always has its connections with things some people are afraid of – like black cats or walking under a ladder. But last Friday is a day I will remember for a long time as well as all the area athletes.
