Lady Jays split games with OHS

OBERLIN – It was the best of times and the worst of times for the Lady Jays spftball team Thursday. St. Edmund won a 1-0 extra inning thriller over Oberlin, but the Lady Tigers responded with a 4-3 win to hand the Lady Jays their first district loss of the season.

Bobcats clip Gents

After being beaten by a 21-1 margin earlier in the week by the Eunice Bobcats, the Crowley Gents gave the Bobcats all they could handle in a baseball game played Thursday at Bobcat Field.

Lady Cats cruise to win

The Lady Bobcats exploded for 12 runs in the second inning as Eunice High earned a 16-0 mercy-rule District 5-3A win over Port Barre. The Lady Cats (7-9, 2-8) pushed across four runs in the bottom of the first frame, begun when Alissa Pate walked and scored on a hit by Natalie Vidrine.

Blue Jays down Hornets

The Eunice High boys won the 2019 Bobcat Relays, scoring 126 points to out distance second place Crowley.

All-District 5-3A team released

Eunice High senior Stacie White was named District 5-3A MVP, while three other Lady Bobcats earned all-district basketball honors. White was joined on the first team by Northwest’s Katlyn Manuel and Khahli Malone along with Kameron Allen from Pine Prairie and Iota’s Kendall Miller.

LAKE CHARLES – The Lady Jays exploded for 13 runs in the first inning as St. Emund cruised to a 16-1 mercy-rule victory over Lake Charles College Prep.

Lady Cats drop district games

The Lady Cats fell to 1-3 in District 5-3A with a pair of losses to rivals Port Barre and Iota. Iota 11, Eunice 2 Eunice grabbed an early 1-0 lead, but Iota took over as the Lady Bulldogs rolled in an 11-2 win.
