Second graders run for office

Courtney Richer’s second grade students at Eunice Elementary recently studied about government and how elections are performed. At the end of their study, students held a “mock” presentation of their running for office.

How to create more closet space

I own an older home in Eunice, and closet space in my bedrooms are not as large as I desire. I do not have walk-in closets, which I miss from my previous apartment. However, I do have two extra closets/storage areas, which I am thankful for.

Eunice High School students celebrate Homecoming Week

Eunice High School celebrates homecoming week with different dress days. Monday, seniors wore togas and underclassmen wore different colors; Tuesday was declared Aloha Day, as students dressed in their favorite Hawaiian attire.

This week’s Student of the Week is Shelby Richardson, a senior at Eunice High School. Her parents are Nadine and Sean Richardson. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, because of how beautiful it is.

Justin Gibson Jr. Laura Nazario and Justin Gibson of Rayne announce the birth of their son, Justin Bradley Gibson Jr., born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 26 weighing 5 pounds and 11 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Elvia Sisa and Javier Izaguirre of Rayne.

Harry & Lisa Trahan at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by The Harry & Lisa Trahan Family Band (new CD release). Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.
