Marisa Cormier Cal and Kristy Cormier of Eunice announce the birth of their daughter, Marisa Blayke Cormier, born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 7 weighing 6 pounds and 14.8 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Roderick and Tammy Chapman of Eunice.

Wallace Trahan at Liberty

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Wallace Trahan & Rice n Gravy. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.

Grandparents Day at St. Ed

DARE program at Central Middle

Central Middle School kicked off its 2017-2018 DARE program for fifth-graders on Sept. 11. Central Middle School has the largest DARE participation for fifth-graders in the St. Landry Parish School District.
