Betsie Fontenot named Eunice High Teacher of the Year

Betsie Fontenot is Teacher of the Year at Eunice High School. The 2000 graduate of Eunice High School teaches Algebra I. She started teaching at Eunice High in 2013, however, has been in her educational career since 2005.

Grandparents Day celebrated at Highland

Cooking demonstration at the Jean Lafitte Center

The Jean Lafitte, National Historical Park Cultural Center hosted a kitchen demonstration Sept. 23. The guest home chef was Camille Reed, who prepared a nouveau Cajun crawfish pasta salad, which everyone enjoyed.

Lyla Vernier Michaela Costanza of Kinder and Caleb Vernier of Orange, Texas, announce the birth of their daughter, Lyla Brooke Vernier, born at Acadian Medical Center on Sept. 17 weighing 6 pounds and 0.48 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Michelle and Kenneth Pelican of Kinder.

St. Ed seniors attend retreat at UL campus

On Sept. 13 the St. Edmund High senior class traveled to Our Lady of Wisdom on the University of Louisiana of Lafayette campus for their senior retreat.
