Orientation, open houses posted

Open houses, registration dates and time at Eunice schools are listed below. Open house at Highland Elementary will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today. There will also be Kona Ice truck and Mrs. Gattis’ Pizza truck open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

Ronnie Matthews at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Ronnie Matthews & Throwdown. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children ages 7 to 12 are $3.

Birth Announcements

Xander San Lina (Leo) San and Cheng San announce the birth of their son, Xander Cheng San, born at Acadian Medical Center on July 21 weighing 6 pounds and 7.4 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Kong Sarat and Srun Cheng. Paternal grandparents are Chathy Hong and Kim Chhay San.

‘Build A Better World,’ summer reading program at library concludes

The themed summer reading program “Build a Better World,” concluded Wednesday with a program. Door prizes, T-shirts, gift certificates and a grand prize of a bicycle, donated by Walmart, was part of the program.
