LSU AgCenter horticulturist advises to remove faded flowers

By Dan Gill LSU AgCenter Horticulturist Deadheading is an important but often neglected gardening technique. It refers to pruning off old, faded flowers from a plant as it blooms. It is most often done to annuals and perennials, but it is also useful with some summer-flowering trees and shrubs.

Survivorman event at Acadian Baptist Center

Do you know how to get back to civilization? What do you do if you are lost? How can you avoid being lost in the city? Acadian Baptist Center of Eunice will present a two-day event, Survivorman, on Sept. 15 and 16th for boys first-through sixth-grade and their dads and grandfathers.

As a processional tradition of the statue of Mary, St. Edmund football team members and spirit groups walked Friday and transported the Statue of Mary from the school’s campus, to Vine Street, and to the Blue Jay field in order to place Mary in her grotto for the 2017 football season.
