NAUW Eunice celebrates Women in History

During the month of March, women of the community who have contributed to events in history and contemporary society and the well being of mankind are recognized for their unselfish kindness.

Class Act Student of the Week

This week’s Student of the Week is Caroline Bollich, a junior at St. Edmund High School. Her parents are Ben and Mindy Bollich. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Washington, D.C.

Birth Announcements

Kyson Courville Ashley Courville of Eunice announces the birth of her son, Kyson Scott Courville, born at Acadian Medical Center on March 20 weighing 5 pounds and 7 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Glen and Paula Courville of Eunice. He was welcomed home by his parents, Nanny, Tauntie and Megan.

Cormier at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Jay Cormier & Cajun Born. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5. Starting at 10 a.m.

Music, singing benefits children

After reading the following, courtesy of Newspaper Metro, I can testify as a grandmother of a near 2-year-old grandson, that music and singing benefits children. Not only the child’s listening, hearing, and dancing skills are beneficial, they love to hear their favorite song over and over and over.

Le Barn Rouge ceremony joins couple in Holy Matrimony

The Le Barn Rouge in Lafayette was the setting for the evening outdoor double ring Christian ceremony uniting Andrea Marie Charlier and Caleb Scott Plunkett in Holy Matrimony. The ceremony was held on Saturday, March 25 at 6 p.m. with Sean Walker, Executive Pastor of The Bayou Church, officiating.

Black History Month celebrated at St. Mathilda Catholic Church

St. Mathilda Catholic Church celebrated Black History Month with a celebration program on Feb. 26. This year’s theme was, “A Celebration of Black History.” The program entailed a welcome by Germaine Simpson, a Kwanzaa Tribute by St.

Eunice High senior soda tabs project

Eunice High School seniors, Shawn Fontenot, Jude Cormier, Koy Lejeune, Donavan Ngoun and Feiyan Ou, not pictured, did their senior project by collecting soda can tabs from aluminum cans, all to be donated to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
