St. Landry Parish school construction projects started in the wake of the Covid pandemic were declared finished at a Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday in Opelousas. “This will be very short and very sweet, we’re finished.
Early voting for the Dec. 7 election will be held from Friday through Nov 30, excluding Sunday, Thanksgiving and Nov. 29, which is observed as Acadian Day, according to Byron Stelly, St. Landry Parish registrar of voters.

Fertilizers improve soil health so that the essential nutrients are available for a plant to soak up through its roots. All plants need rich fertile soil to grow their best and stay healthy. Adding nutrients already plentiful in the soil may cause more harm than good for the plant.

$100 reward planned to catch parish litter bugs

The St. Landry Crime Stopper Board is going to pay people up to $100 if the submit a tip about a litter bug results in an arrest or conviction, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Maj. Mark LeBlanc, Crime Stopper coordinator.

St. Landry Parish Hospital District 1, which served the Eunice hospital, is about to be abolished. On the agenda for Wednesday’s St. Landry Parish Council meeting is an ordinance to end the district and transfer its property to the parish.
