Evangeline Parish Library Board approves bid for new Basile library

The Evangeline Parish Library Board of Control convened on June 6 at the Basile branch to select the contractor for the long-awaited new branch building. The meeting culminated in the awarding of the contract to Pat Williams Construction, Inc., which presented the lowest bid at $1,135,000.

Eunice landmark Queen Cinema, built in 1937, is for sale

The long-standing Queen Cinema in Eunice is up for sale. Built in 1937, the 8,500-square-foot, three-screen theater at 231 W. Walnut St. is listed for $130,000. It is regarded as the state’s third-oldest movie theater still in operation.
