Do schools need a single policy on violence?

New St. Landry Parish School Board member Tiffany Nolan presented her version of a school violence policy, but it was shelved during an Executive Committee meeting on March 27. “I think it is something we need to address,” she said. “We are really facing some things here when it comes to violence.

School health sites proposed in Eunice

The first of school health sites proposed for St. Landry Parish may open in Eunice. Health agencies are competing for grants to open sites in rural schools with the applications due April 15, according to Dwanetta Scott, supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance for the St.

VFW celebrates Don Reber’s tenure as state commander

Veterans of Foreign War leaders and members from Louisiana celebrated Don Reber’s tenure as state commander at a weekend celebration at Eunice Post 8971. The Commander Homecoming and Testimonial occurs at the commander’s home post.

The 36th annual World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off was held Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Northwest Community Center pavilion and grounds. Approximately 30 cooking booths entered and participated in the event, with chefs cookng their secret crawfish etouffee recipes.
