Mamou Cajun Music Festival schedule announced

The band schedule for the 51st annual Mamou Cajun Music Festival is completed. The schedule is as follows: Friday, Sept. 13 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Cajun Strong avec Jason Babineaux 8:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m. Wayne Toups, Jamey Bearb and Cajun Friends Saturday, Sept. 14 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

School district reorganization in the works

A little over a year into this tenure as superintendent, Milton Batiste III won committee approval for an administrative reorganization that adds a second assistant superintendent and other changes.

Voter registration drive begins Thursday

A series of voter registration drives in celebration of Voter Registration Week and in preparation for the upcoming fall election cycle began Thursday in Eunice, according to Byron Stelly, parish registrar of voters.

New Bengal Baseball Stadium promises to transform campus

A transformation of the LSUE campus is underway with the construction of a baseball stadium born out of the athletic program’s success. Jeff Willis, LSUE athletic director and head baseball coach, said the stadium will have endless possibilities. “This will be more than a baseball field.

Football season arrives

There’s nothing quite like it, and when the ball is teed up on the last week in August for jamborees it can only mean one thing. High school football is back and the Eunice Bobcats and St.

Parish student count declines

Enrollment in St. Landry Parish’s public schools is down from the end of last year with a count on Monday of 11,066 compared to 11,183 at the end of the last school year.
