An Evangeline Parish grand jury indicted former Basile Police Officer Nicholas P. Richardson on one count of malfeasance in office (performance of duty in unlawful manner) on Sept. 27.

Road problem may get a fix

A complaint about gravel and grading on Thompson Lane northwest of Eunice is to be remedied by a St. Landry Parish road crew, Bill Fontenot, parish president, said. Fontenot was informed about a complaint about the road from Hilton Fontenot, who lives on the road.

Early voting resumes at Eunice City Hall

Why did you run that 4-way stop?

A flurry of tickets were written at the four-way stop at U.S. 190 and La. 13 on Monday. The intersection previous to an early Saturday morning wreck involving four vehicles had been governed by traffic lights. But it was back to drivers waiting on each other in rotation to make a move.

4-vehicle wreck slows traffic at key intersection

A four-vehicle wreck at U.S. 190 and La. 13 Saturday morning damaged the traffic light turning the intersection into a four-way stop. Investigating Eunice Police Officer Chase Godeaux said the initial call was about a vehicle crashing into a traffic pole and the pole was on the road.
