Lady Jays jolted by Pine Prairie

The St. Edmund Lady Jays are just getting back into the swing of things in their young softball season.

Lady Cats rebound

After dropping a pair of games in a tournament, the Eunice High Lady Cat softball team got back on track in a big way on Wednesday night. They downed Mamou 11-1 to even their record on 3-3 in the young season after being dealt a pair of tough losses against St. Thomas More and Hahnville. St.

LSUE offense catches fire in Saturday win vs. Murray State

The LSU Eunice Baseball offense shined from start to finish, leading the Bengals to a 17-9 victory over Murray State on Saturday at Bengal Stadium. LSUE (18-1) collected 22 hits in the game, the most for LSU Eunice since a 25-hit performance against L.B. Wallace during the 2021 season.

Bengals keep rolling at home, secure series sweep of Lansing

LSU Eunice Softball continues to enjoy the comforts of the Cajun Prairie, taking another pair of games against Lansing CC on Saturday at Lady Bengal Field. LSUE (19-5) swept the Stars for a second straight day, its third straight twin bill sweep at home this week.

Blue Jays off to a rocky start

By Rhett Manuel Sports Editor The St. Ed’s Blue Jay varsity baseball team’s record is as deceiving as it can be so far in 2025. A team that is heavy on talent with a lot of senior experience, head coach Nick Trosclair expected his Blue Jays to make noise this season.

Ellender trips Bobcats

By Rhett Manuel Sports Editor If there’s been a way to describe the Eunice High Bobcats boys’ basketball team all season, it’s been equal parts exciting and frustrating. When at their best, they were a well-oiled offensive machine that could score in a variety of ways and from a variety of spots.

Lady Jays battle down to the wire, but fall short

By Rhett Manuel Sports Editor With the season on the line, St. Ed’s had the ball in the hands of its most-trusted ball handler with an opportunity to go to the state tournament. All eyes lay on the far side of the court as junior Ava Smith inbounded the ball.

Team Pitre takes the lead in week 4

The fourth week of Eunice Ladies Tennis League (ELTL) ended the evening with Team Pitre having a score of 16 and Team Renee having 14 points. Matches for weeks two and three were cancelled due to rain. There will be no matches on March 4.

Moosa, D’Aubin teams take the lead

The Eunice Mens Tennis League’s week #2 results were Team Moosa edging out Team Ashford by a score of 7-6 and Team D’Aubin took care of Team Pitre in the late match with a score of 9-6. There will be no matches on March 3.

Bengals secure home sweep of Kilgore

LSU Eunice Softball got its eight-game homestand off to a solid start with a doubleheader sweep of Kilgore College on Tuesday at Lady Bengal Field. The Bengals (15-5) won all five matchups with the Rangers this early season.
