ELTL Team Pitre takes lead in week 8

The eighth week of Eunice Ladies Tennis League (ELTL) ended the evening with Team Pitre having 24 points and Team Renee with 10 points.

At 15-6 overall, the Eunice High Lady Cats continued their strong season but hit a major hiccup in a 19-4 loss to Iowa following a 15-0 blasting of DeRidder in District 4-3A on March 27.

The Eunice Mens Tennis League’s completed its fifth week of tennis play. As of Week 5, March 24, the team standings include Team Moosa 43, Team Ashford 38, Team Pitre 31, and Team D’Aubin at 30.

Lady Jays defeat Westminster 13-2

The St. Edmund Lady Jays softball team got a big District 5-1A win in taking down Westminster 13-2 last Tuesday. It was the highlight of a week that saw the Lady Jays drop a pair of games, a competitive 8-4 loss to Church Point and an 18-8 decision to Catholic-Pointe Coupee in district play.

Bobcat sprinters shine, Blue Jays excel in field events

The Eunice High and St. Edmund track-and-field teams both competed at the Iota Bulldog Relays last week, with the St. Ed’s boys putting up an impressive showing in field events and Eunice High having a few sprinters run their way to success.

After a rough patch, the St. Ed’s baseball team appears to be finding itself in winning its last three games to move to 9-11 overall this season.

Lady Cats are hot at bat

The prolific Eunice Lady Cats softball team continues to produce runs in droves, defeating Beau Chene 11-8 on Monday and Washington-Marion 17-2 on Tuesday in District 3-4A play to move their record to 14-5 overall.

College athletes learn to earn promo cash

Bailey Tillman began her freshman year at McNeese State University in 2021 after new NCAA rules allowed college athletes to start making money.

Lady Cats win first at relays

Eunice High participated in the Egly Sam Relays at Northwest High last Friday, with the girls team winning first place overall at the meet. After struggling the previous week at the Basile Relays, the girls team showed significant progress in pulling down its first meet win of the year.
