Bengals land pair on NJCAA Baseball All-American Team

The LSU Eunice Baseball duo of Alec Beversdorf and Tyson LeBlanc are the latest to etch their names in the Bengals’ history books as the pair were named to the 2025 NJCAA Division I Baseball All-American team, the organization announced on Wednesday.

St. Ed’s continued its building of the new look of its baseball program under head coach Casey Charlie as they continued in the Metro Summer League play. St. Ed’s colected a 16-5 win over Westminster, lost 3-2 to Sacred Heart before bouncing back with a 12-2 win over Acadia.

Designated hitter Ethan Frey drove in four runs Monday night, and right-hander Casan Evans fired 6.0 brilliant relief innings as top-ranked LSU posted a 10-6 win over Little Rock to capture the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional title in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

LSU Eunice freshman Payton Prince has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American team, the organization. Prince is a second-team member on the 37-player team comprised of NJCAA Division II student-athletes.

‘Coach Frug’ recalled for 58 years of coaching, teaching

Coach Marion Fruge, known more commonly as “Coach Frug” to his athletes and students and “Poopsie” to his family, passed away May 30. He was 89 years old.
