Bobcats earn district honors

In head coach Scott Phillips’ final season at the helm, perhaps the Eunice Bobcats didn’t reach the ultimate goal of reaching the state tournament in the legendary coach’s final season. That, however, didn’t stop the Bobcats from being recognized in the district’s All-District selection.

Team Pitre is spring season tennis winner

The 12th and final week of Eunice Ladies Tennis League (ELTL) ended the evening with Team Pitre, captained by Bonnie Pitre Kyzar, as the official winners of the spring 2025 season. The 12th week points were Team Pitre with 16 and Team Renee with 14.

Lejeune, Summerlin clinch state track meet spots

The St. Edmund High School track and field teams showcased their talent and determination at the LHSAA Class 1A - Region 2 Championships held at Basile High School on April 30.

Bobcat baseball tradition

There’s no place like home. For new Eunice High baseball coach Stuart Turner, he’s lived out dreams that many from this small town might deem unimaginable. Signing a scholarship to play college baseball is one thing.

LSUE draws BRCC to open Region 23 Tournament

LSU Eunice will begin its postseason journey at 1 p.m. Saturday against Baton Rouge CC with the start of the 2025 Division I Region 23 Baseball Tournament. LSUE (49-3) is the number one seed in the four-team, double elimination tournament after capturing the LCCAC regular season championship.

Lady Cats lose to Grant in playoffs

The No. 10-seeded Eunice High Lady Cats had their season ended a week ago by No. 7 Grant in a 12-8 game. Grant put together a big inning in the bottom of the fourth, piecing together eight runs on seven hits to separate themselves from and eliminate the Lady Cats.

Bobcat season ends with losses to top-seeded Brusly

The Scott Phillips Era ended last weekend, with the No. 16-seeded Eunice Bobcat baseball team dropping back-to-back games against top-seeded Brusly in the Regional round of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division II Non-Select playoffs.

LSUE takes midweek against Bossier Parish

LSU Eunice Baseball took care of business in its final midweek game of the 2025 regular season, defeating Bosier Parish CC 8-5 on Wednesday at Bengal Stadium. LSUE (47-2 overall record, 13-1 LCCAC) improved to 9-0 this season in midweek contests.
