New Eunice head coach Stuart Turner takes over for the retiring Scott Phillips. An alumni of Eunice High, Turner has been an assistant at the school in baseball and football since 2020. He played college baseball at LSUE and Ole Miss and played professionally with the Cincinnati Reds after being drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the third round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Blue Jays win first playoff games
Jillian DeVillier, left, and Clara Brown, both seniors at St. Edmund High School, are regional champs, girls doubles, in tennis. The duo played in Alexandria in the Division IV, Regional II Tennis Tournament. They won 6-3, 6-4 in the championship round against a team from Menard High.
