Joe Feucht is the new interim principal at St. Edmund Catholic School. Feucht started his post on May 15.
Feucht is a native of Mamou, and a graduate of Mamou High School. He attended LSU Eunice, McNeese State University, the University of Georgia, Athens, Cal State-Hayward.
Galactic Starveyors (Colossians 1:15-16 Discovering the God of the Universe) Vacation Bible School was held this week, and concludes Friday, at First Baptist Church in Eunice.
St. Edmund Elementary second graders in Mary Joubert and Ali Cormier’s classes recently took a field trip to the Lafayette Science Museum and Planetarium.
The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Kenneth Benoit & The Gravel Road Band.

Although Flag Day was established as a formal national holiday in 1949, it was not made a federal holiday. Flag Day is only an official holiday in the state of Pennsylvania. This may be fitting because legend holds that Betsy Ross sewed the first flag in Pennsylvania.
