Class Act Student of the Week

This week’s Student of the Week is Megan Mitchell, a freshman at St. Edmund High School. Her parents are Maria and Sonny Mitchell. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Nashville because of the music, culture and people.

Cajun & Creole at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Cajun & Creole Fiddle Masters. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5. Starting at 10 a.m.

Graduating seniors, dress appropriately

Graduation is a special time in a student’s life. Eunice High seniors will graduate Friday evening and St. Edmund High seniors graduate on Saturday morning. Students will be dressed in graduation gowns and caps. However, what a student wears underneath his or her gown is important.

2017 Miss Eunice and Teen Miss Eunice crowned

The 71st Miss Eunice and Teen Miss Eunice Pageant was held Saturday evening inside Eunice High School’s auditorium. The annual contest was sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Eunice.

Summer reading, crafts, performances scheduled at Eunice Library

Summer readings, crafts, activities and performances at the Eunice Library are scheduled. Summer Reading Program registration begins on May 30 and ends July 1. Summer Story Time begins at 10:30 a.m., June 7 and continues each Wednesday through July 19. A closing ceremony will be held July 26.
