Coco Tribe at Opelousas Museum The Coco Tribe of Canneci Tinne will be at the Opelousas Museum from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday. The Opelousas Museum & Interpretive Center is located at 315 N. Main St., in Opelousas. November is National American Indian Heritage Month.

Eunice voters to decide on Parish Council seat, hotel tax

Early voting begins Friday and continues through Nov. 11 for the Nov. 18 general election. Early voting is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. except for Nov. 5 and 10, which is the state observed Veterans Day holiday.

Tri-Parish jobless rate, workforce hold steady

The Tri-Parish workforce in September held steady and unemployment rates changed little from a year ago, according to statistic released by Louisiana Workforce Commission. Louisiana’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September is 3.6%.

EPT ‘The Butler Did It’ play continues The Eunice Players’ Theatre production of “The Butler Did It” will continue at 7 p.m., Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.

Eunice Community Health Center Sausage PoBoy fundraiser

The Eunice Community Health Center (ECHC) held a Sausage Po Boy fundraiser Wednesday at the VFW Bobcat Hall on Bobcat Drive. The lunch sale included a sausage on a bun, BBQ sauce in a cup, chips and water for a donation of $8. All proceeds went to benefit the clinic.

NAUW Breast Cancer Awareness Walk set for today The NAUW Eunice Branch will have a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today. The walk will begin and end at Chiquita Thomas residence at 621 Opal in Eunice. All survivors, organizations, groups, churches are welcomed.

School Board panel sweetens employee Christmas stipend

The St Landry Parish School Board is planning on a $1,500 Christmas stipend for employees at $750 for permanent substitutes. After a presentation by Shaun Grantham, finance director, at an Executive Committee meeting Monday, employees may get a little extra in the stipend.
