LHSAA drops jamborees for 2020

There will be no jamborees this fall as the LHSAA sent out its latest decision to its member schools. The LHSAA has also decreed no scrimmages, jamborees, 7-on-7 practices/tournaments and other types of practices between teams will take place this fall.

LHSAA delays football until Oct. 8

At least they have a date. That seems to be the opinion of the local head coaches concerning the LHSAA’s decision to push back the start of its football season until Oct. 8. The fall sports seasons were scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 24 with jamborees for both volleyball and football.

Editor’s Note: This is first of the three story series looking back at the 2019-2020 high school sports seasons. The 2019 football season saw five area team grab playoff spots and numerous players earned post season honors. Lane Devillier and Jordan Ogelsby both earned Class-4A All-State honors.
