Bobcats fall to AHS Rams

By John Burson Sports Writer The Eunice High Bobcats took an early lead over the visiting Rams Tuesday but Acadinana High recovered for a 17-4 win at Bobcat Field.

Lady Jays grab 5-1 win

For four innings it was a defensive struggle between Westgate and St. Edmund. Then the Lady Jays exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fifth frame as St. Edmund earned a 5-1 win.

Lady Jays head to state meet

They have already made history as the first girls power lifting team at St. Edmund. But seniors Mallory Allain, Lucy Brown, Kathryn Leger along with junior Blaire Allain want to leave their mark in the school’s record books. “When people ask us how long we have been doing this,” Mallory said.

Lady Jays fall to SHVP

The rivalry between St. Edmund and Sacred Heart of Ville Platte continyed Thursday as the Lady Trojans rolled to a 11-4 win over the Lady Jays in non-district softball action.

Eunice downs OHS in tennis battle

OPELOUSAS – Eunice earned a 4-3 win over Opelousas High in tennis action Wednesday. In boys singles, Zachary Joubert defeated Aaron 7-5, 6-1. Ting Jaing grabbed a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 split-set win over Boah Smith. William McLemore fell to Keevon Clark, 6-1, 5-7.

Young-Frey tourney begins today

The annual John R. Young Chevrolet/Frey Holding Company baseball tournament begins today at nine different baseball parks around Acadiana. “We have 33 teams in the tournament,” Eunice head baseball coach Scott Phillips said.

Bobcats win Invitational

The Eunice Bobcats opened the 2017 track season with a win, while the Lady Bobcats finished third in the EHS Invitational. Eunice scored 152 points, followed by Opelousas (125), Crowley (79), Pine Prairie (71.5), Port Barre (44), Opelousas Catholic (32.5) and Iota (29).

Bulldogs top Bobcats, 9-5

Jennings handed Eunice its first team loss of the tennis season as the Bulldogs grabbed a 9-5 win over the Bobcats Thursday at the Fairground courts. In boys singles, Eunice High’s Zachary Joubert defeated Shad Noe, 8-5.

Bobcats cruise past OHS, 19-1

The Eunice High Bobcats discovered their offense as they pounded out 15 hits in a 19-1 blowout over the Opelousas High Tigers at Bobcat Field in baseball action Monday. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Opelousas but was moved to Eunice because of field conditions in Opelousas.
