District 5-1A team selected

After a sixth-place finish in district, the St. Edmund Blue Jays had three players selected to the 2017 All-District 5-1A team. St. Edmund senior Austin Gradney was named to the All-Defensive team, while Alex Dupre and Carter Andrus were placed on the Honorable Mention list.

Church Point clips Eunice

Church Point exploded for four runs in the top of the first as the Lady Bears held on for a 9-5 win over the Eunice Lady Cats. Eunice (7-14. 3-3) travels to Port Barre today as Disitrct 5-3A compeition continues.

Eunice cruises past Bears, 14-4

The Eunice High Bobcats scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat the Church Point High Bears by a 14-4 mercy-rule victory in District 5-3A baseball action Tuesday night at Bobcat Field. Eunice travels to Port Barre for a 4 p.m. district clash today.

Blue Jays roll past Gators

St. Edmund opened Disrict 5-1A competition Tuesday with an impressive 10-3 win over False River Academy. The Gators jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead, begun when Gage Fuller singled, Cole Laprarie walked and James Kohl singled to load the bases.

Lady Jays grab key wins

The Lady Jays opened the week with a pair of crucial wins, including a 7-6 thriller over Westminster Christian Academy. St. Edmund (8-10, 2-1) travels to WCA today as District 5-1A action continues.

White, Walker land on 5-3A team

The Eunice Lady Bobcats finished fourth in district competition and placed two players on the 5-3A All-District list. Stacie White was named to the All-District first team, while Leah Walker earned All-Defensive team honors.

SHVP slips past Blue Jays

VILLE PLATTE – In a battle between rivals, this one went to the Trojans. After St. Edmund exploded for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to grab a 10-9 advantage, Sacred Heart of Ville Platte answered with two runs to seal a 11-10 win.

The Barbe Buccaneers took advantage of some defensive miscues in the first two innings to take an early 7-0 lead on their way to a 10-3 victory over Eunice High in baseball action Tuesday evening at Bobcat Field.
