Bengals begin with strong showing

The second-ranked LSU Eunice baseball team opened the 2017 season with a 12-2, 11-5, 11-1 sweep over North Lake College. LSUE will entertain Southwest Tennessee Community College in a four-game series beginning 6 p.m. Thursday.

Bobcats, Pine Prairie split games

The Eunice High Bobcats claimed a District 5-3A victory over Pine Prairie in basketball action played Friday at the Bobcat gym. Coach Chad Andrepont’s Bobcats pulled away from the Panthers in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Panthers by a 23-18 margin to claim the win.

Bengals, Lady Bengals open seasons

The second-ranked LSU Eunice baseball team begins the 2017 baseball season with a three-game series against North Lake College (Dallas). Today’s first pitch is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday’s games will begin at 1 p.m.

Lady Cats earn win, Bobcats fall in OT

Basile, Jays split disitrict games

BASILE – The Bearcats jumped out to a 19-8 first quarter run as Basile rolled to a 71-50 win over the St. Edmund Blue Jays. Bubba Reed pushed in seven points for the Bearcats (8-17, 2-3) in the first period. Stephan Thibodeaux scored four points for the Jays (2-20, 0-6).
