Cooper earns top honors

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor Eunice High’s Tylon Cooper had a stellar outing in the Bobcats’ 44-20 win over Northwest. Cooper had four receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown to go with his two interceptions on defense. Cooper also had one carry for 29 yards.

Bobcats face winless Panthers

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor The two teams are heading in opposite directions as the Eunice Bobcats visit Catholic High of New Iberia this week. Eunice (2-2) bounced back from a loss to Avoyelles with a 44-20 win over the Northwest Raiders.

Blue Jays visit Oakdale for non-district battle

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor Most of the time it is a storm that forces the cancellation of a game. Last Thursday in Lake Charles, it was the lack of officials for the St. Edmund – LaGrange football game. LHSAA determined on Tuesday its was a LaGrange forfeit – giving the Jays a 2-0 win.

Blue Jays visit 0-3 LaGrange Gators

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor St. Edmund improved to 2-1 on the season as the Blue Jays soared to a 68-13 win over Westminster Christian Academy – Lafayette. SEH (2-1) visits winless LaGrange Thursday as the Class 4-A Gators have lost to Barbe (49-12), Haughton (44-14) and Kaplan (40-14).

Lady Cats battle Lady Jays for 3-2 win

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor It took all five matches, but the Eunice Lady Bobcats prevailed with a 3-2 volleyball win Monday over St. Edmund. EHS jumped out to a 10-4 advantage in the first match before the Lady Jays rallied for five straight points.

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor NFL Super Bowl champion Keith Ortego is the latest member of the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame. Ortego was a 1981 Eunice High graduate and after a stellar career at McNeese State was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears.
