Iota cruises past Oakdale in blowout victory

After his team’s flat performance in last week’s victory over Basile, Iota coach Josh Andrus was hoping a good week of practice would restore his team’s focus and have them ready to play hard for four quarters against the Oakdale Warriors. Mission accomplished. The 44-7 victory was never in doubt.

VC kicker nails game-winner

When the game was on the line, the Vermilion Catholic Eagles answered in a big way. Sophomore kicker John Robert Allums kicked two field goals in the final three minutes of the game to help his team beat Opelousas Catholic 26-23 on Friday.

VILLE PLATTE – In a hard-hitting battle, Sacred Heart of Ville Platte pulled out a 10-3 win over rival St. Edmund. “We can’t turn the ball over, give up big plays or hurt ourselves with penalties,” St, Edmund head coach Andy Hargroder said after the game.

Bobcats stun No. 10 Jennings

JENNINGS – The Jennings High Bulldogs dominated the action in the early going as they drove from their 35-yard line to deep within the Eunice Bobcat territory. But the Bobcats held off the Bulldogs by forcing a fumble that was recoverd by Carlin Vigers at the Eunice 9-yard line to end the threat.

JENNINGS – Eunice High rolled to a 53-24 win over Opelousas High, while Jennings suffered a stunning 30-21 loss to Church Point. But for Bobcat head coach Paul Trosclair, the results doesn’t mean much heading into Friday’s trip to Jennings. “They are very good,” the coach said of the Bulldogs.

OPELOUSAS – The Eunice High Bobcats took an early lead against the Opelousas High Tigers and continued to put pressure on the Tiger defense and offense to claim a 53-24 victory. The game was interrupted for 50 minutes by a lightning delay in the second quarter.

Blue Jays soar past Hanson

The Blue Jays grabbed control of the game early as St. Edmund jumped out to a 38-0 halftime advantage and finished with a 45-12 win over Hanson Memorial. “It is always good to win the first one,” St. Edmund head coach Andy Hargroder said.
