Mustangs run past Blue Jays

St. Edmund head coach James Shiver knew what his Blue Jays were up against Friday night as Avoyelles came to visit. The Mustangs stampeded through the St. Ed defense for 410 yards on 62 plays as Avoyelles grabbed a 36-7 win over the Blue Jays.

Merricks joins EHS Hall of Fame

He was the first baseball coach for the Bobcats and now Clarence Merricks joins the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame. According to Merricks, he was hired at EHS in the 1971-72 school year to fill an opening in math and science.

Over the years, the Eunice – Jennings rivalry has had its share of close games in the annual dog and cat fight. This year was no different as the No. 9 Bobcats grabbed a 19-7 win over the Bulldogs.
