LAKE CHARLES – The Bearcats sealed second place in District 4-1A as Basile rolled to a 40-6 victory at Hamilton Christian Thursday night. No. 6 Basile now waits for the Class 1-A bracket to be released to find out who they will face to open the playoffs.

Bobcats, Bulldogs battle for 5-3A title

It all comes down to this – undefeated Iota visits one-loss Eunice with the District 5-3A title on the line. Eunice’s only loss on the season was a 22-20 loss to then undefeated Church Point, a team Iota would later defeat 15-12.

Jays poised to win district

A Blue Jay win over Merryville tonight will seal a second consecutive District 4-A football title for St. Edmund. The last time the Jays won-back-to-back district titles was in 2003-04. “It is always good when you can repeat,” St. Edmund head coach Andy Hargroder said.

PRAIRIE RHONDE – Eunice High remained in the District 5-3A title battle as the Bobcats earned a 37-14 road win over the Northwest Raiders. The Bobcats got off to a fast start after receiving the opening kickoff.

Berwick defeats Patterson 35-21

Berwick defeated Patterson 35-21 in District 8-3A action Friday at the Sugar Dome at Patterson High. The Panthers used big plays to stun the Lumberjacks. Berwick scored on its first two possessions, including a 64-yard run by Josh Jones to take a 14-0 lead with 6:19 remaining in the first quarter.

Wolves take 48-26 district win over Northside

RAYNE – Rayne High football fans know the Wolves a limited number of returning starters from last year’s semi-finalist squad. They have struggled with getting their rookies into the formation and help prevent two-way starters.

RAYNE - With a 7-1 district slate heading into their last week of district play, the Lady Wolves are in search of a possible district title before entering post-seaosn play. The Lady Wolves have claimed wins in a tough district with wins over Crowley, Eunice, Iota Church Point and Northwest.
