Young - Frey tournament begins today

The annual John R. Young Chevrolet/Frey Holding Company begins today with 28 teams partcipating at nine different locations. “We are looking to finaly get to play some games at home,” Eunice High head baseball coach Scott Phillips said.

EHS finishes 2-2 at 2019 Prep Classic

MONROE – The Eunice High Bobcats completed their annual trip to the Trey Altick Louisiana Baseball Prep Classic with two wins and two losses. The Bobcats opened play against the Jena Giants in a contest held at the Sterlington Baseball Complex.

Lady Bobcats roll in Oakdale tourney

OAKDALE – The Lady Bobcats improved to 4-2 overall on the softball season as Eunice grabbed two wins in the Oakdale tournament. The Lady Cats opened with a 5-2 win over Oberlin and closed the tournament with a 10-8 extra inning win over Westlake.

Blue Jays grab wins in tourney

St. Edmund earned two wins in the Rosepine baseball tournament as the Blue Jays improved to 6-2 on the season. St. Ed’s pitchers Lance Miller Brice Vidrine two pitchers teamed up to a throw a no-hitter in St Ed’s 10-0 win over Oakdale to begin the tournament.

Lady Cats down Jennings

The Lady Bobcats exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning as Eunice cruised to to 16-1 mercy-rule win over the Jennings Lady Bulldogs. McKenzie Guillory walked, Natalie Vidrine singled and Cassie Thomas drilled a double to score both Lady Cats.

Lady Jays rally for win in season opener

The St. Edmund Lady Jays began the 2019 softball season with a win and a close loss. In the season opener against Elizabeth, the Lady Jays rallied from a five-run deficit to grab a 10-6 win. The Lady Bulldogs exploded for an early lead with five runs in the top of the first frame as St.

The Eunice Lady Bobcats opened the softball season this week with an impressive win over Ville Platte and a close loss at Crowley. EHS 9, Ville Platte 3 Eunice coasted to a 9-3 victory over Ville Platte.

Blue Jays stun Hanson, 53- 34

FRANKLIN – It was a win to remember Wednesday night as No. 22 St. Edmund stunned No. 11 Hanson Memorial 53-34 in the opening round of the LHSAA Division IV playoffs St. Edmund (4-21) will now travel to No. 6 Vermilion Catholic for regional round contest set for 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lady Cats hold tourney

The Eunice High Lady Bobcats will hold the Eunice Invitational softbal tournament this weekend. Friday’s games will be held at the Eunice Recreation Complex on Sittig Road, while the Saturday contest will he played at Lady Bobcat Field. The tournament begins at 3:30 p.m.

LCA ends Lady Jays’ season

LAFAYETTE – The No. 16 Lady Jays knew the challenge ahead of them when they faced top-seed Lafayette Christian Academy Monday in the regional round of the LHSAA Division IV girls basketball playoffs.
