Blue Jays hold sports awards ceremony

St. Edmund held its Fall Sports award ceremony Monday as volleyball, football, trainers, film, stats, rodeo, cross country, dance team, cheerleaders and drum line were all recognized. In football, the scholastic award for the highest GPA went to Christopher Berzas.

Eunice splits games with Pine Prairie

The Eunice High Lady Bobcats claimed their fourth district win with a 59-47 victory over Pine Prairie in basektball played Friday night at the Bobcat gym. The Lady Bobcats opened the first quarter with a 7-0 start behind the play of Leah Walker, Shanyia Toussaint and Stacie White.

St. Ed's falls to Oberlin

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor Oberlin grabbed a sweep over St. Edmund Friday as the Lady Tigers earned a 61-42 win over the Lady Jays before the Tigers battled to a 63-47 win over the Blue Jays in the finale.

Lady Cats, Bobcats fall in tourney

OPELOUSAS – The No. 2 seed Eunice Lady Bobcats went 0-2 in the St. Landry Parish basketball tournament held this past weekend at Opelousas High. In the opener, Northwest exploded for a 31-10 first quarter run as the Lady Raiders cruised to 82-14 win.

Celebrating the championship

The Bobcats opened the 2017 season at 1-4 and finished with a 5-6 overall record after an opening round playoff loss to Berwick.

Parish basketball tourney starts today

OPELOUSAS – The annual St. Landry Parish basketball tournament tips off today at the Opelousas High gym. North Central is the top seed on both the boys and girls brackets. The tournament begins at 3:30 p.m. as the No. 3 Northwest Lady Raiders (3-4) face the No. 6 Port Barre Lady Devils (1-1).
