Lady Cats roll, Bobcats fall in parish tourney

LEBEAU – The Lady Bobcats used a balanced offense and a stingy defense as Eunice rolled to a 58-32 win over Port Barre to open the St. Landry Parish basketball tournament held at North Central High School. Eunice opened with a 7-2 run, aided by four points from Shanyia Toussaint.

Blue Jays, Lady Jays suffer defeats

LOREAUVILLE – Turnovers and missed free throws were costly for St. Edmund as Loreauville earned a 47-34 win over the Blue Jays. The Tigers (2-2) held a slim 11-10 advantage after the first quarter but started to pull away with a 13-8 second period run.

Vikings run past Bobcats

The Vikings started the game with a 9-2 run and the Bobcats were never able to catch up as Eunice suffered a 90-55 loss to Opelousas Catholic. As soon as tip-off occurred, OC’s Caleb Relbin came out strong and knocked down a three pointer to start the game.

OPELOUSAS – After a sluggish second period, the Bobcats used a strong fourth quarter as Eunice earned a 62-54 win over Port Barre in the Opelousas Catholic tournament. Eunice (1-1) will travel to J.S. Clark next Monday and Northwest on Tuesday before participating in the St.

Northwest runs past Bobcats

OPELOUSAS – Eunice began strong, but Northwest finished with a 82-35 win over the Bobcats in the Opelousas Catholic tournament. In the season opener for the Bobcats, Eunice jumped out to a 23-15 first quarter lead. Trey Cooper hit an early three-pointer and Simeon Ardoin added a drive in the lane.
